I have had the opportunity to be a part of an amazing program called Classroom Champions for the last two years. This program pairs classrooms up with an Olympic Athlete who becomes their virtual penpals. The students do activities and communicate back and forth with the Olympian.
Throughout this experience I teach my students monthly topics on things such as goal setting, perseverance, teamwork and helping the community. Goal setting has been the most impactful to my students.

In August, we set goals and each we reflect on the goals and revise. Some of our goals are long-term and will take all year, but other goals are short terms. The ones we are doing now to build up to the long term goals.

Through this program I have gotten to really enhance my learning as well as my social network. In January I went to St. Lucia and Grenada to teach teachers there about the program.
